CALL FOR PAPERS (download PDF)

We invite original paper submissions that describe novel ideas and technologies, applications, experiments and empirical studies, or design techniques in engineering, environment, energy and economics within topics of the conference. The organizing committee invites you to submit your papers to this conference. Full papers should make substantial, novel and relevant contributions to the field.

The benefits of attending are considerable for established academics and new scientists alike.

Apart from the academic benefits, one should also consider the rich social and cultural program that is always associated with UNIVERSITARIA SIMPRO events. Attractive destinations and quality venues ensure an enjoyable stay to all participants. The multinational composition of the attendees often stimulates the initiation of fruitful conversations. The overall experience is always fulfilling. Although this web site is designed to answer any questions you might have regarding the event, feel free to contact us if you have any inquiries.

CALL FOR WORKSHOPS

We invite submissions of half-day (3 hours) workshop proposals on any of the conference topics. Thematic workshops will be conducted as an event, parallel to the conference. There is limited time and meeting space, that is why the number of presented workshops is in direct dependency with the Oral Session and Invited Session Programme. There is NO additional fee for participating in any workshops if you are registered as a DELEGATE or a LECTURER for the current Conference.

For any detailed information, please forward your question to simpro@upet.ro.

PUBLICATION

Accepted papers will be published in the Proceedings and the selected papers in Annals of the University of Petrosani and Mining Revue Journal. SIMPRO 2014 especially encourages submissions on innovative and visionary new concepts or directions for sustainable mineral resources and energy resources. Accepted full papers will be invited for oral presentation. The conference proceedings will appear on CD with ISBN and the scientific committee will select a number of extended versions for publication in one of our affiliate journals: Annals and the Mining Revue Journal of the University of Petrosani are indexed in EBSCO, Ulrich's International Periodicals Directory and other data bases.

Please mind the conference deadlines. All papers should be submitted before the final date.

Reviewing and rebuttal process: Each paper will be reviewed by one reviewer. The review and selection process that scientific committee/conference organisers/editors will conduct for the conference submissions and papers is single blind review process. Authors will have the opportunity to submit a rebuttal. Symposium organizers/editors agree to uphold the publishing ethics standards. Publication Ethics and Publication Malpractice Statement is based, in large part, on existing Elsevier policies and COPE’s Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors. The relevant duties and expectations of editors, reviewers and authors of the proceeding are set out below: PUBLICATION ETHICS AND PUBLICATION MALPRACTICE STATEMENT

Anonymization: All papers must be appropriately anonymized according to the following guidelines:

  • Author's names and affiliations are not present in the paper.
  • Self-citations should be included where necessary, but must use the third person. For example, "... as shown in our previous user study [2] ..." is not allowed, whereas "... Smith et al. [2] show that" is acceptable. Do not exclude citations to relevant work simply because they are self-citations or “blind” self-citations by removing the text of the reference from the references section.
  • Remove or anonymize acknowledgments.

Failure to follow these guidelines may result in papers being rejected without review.
